Today was my son’s parent/teacher conference. I don’t think I’ve missed a single one of these for either of the kids. I was feeling pretty good today so I ventured out. I’m sure glad I did. Even though I get more fatigued sooner in the day by expending the extra energy to get out of the house, I feel much more alive by getting out. I feel a little more useful. Life feels a little more normal.
Through some weird logistics, I also got the opportunity to drive today for the first time in months. It was also quite liberating (and a nice reward for being off the narcotics and cleared to drive). Thankfully, my first drive was uneventful and I look forward to more to expand my independence. It’s also a key step in making it back to work!
