Some days I don’t think about cancer. Thankfully that’s happening more and more. Other days I’m reminded of the journey I’ve been through and how lucky I am.
This morning I’m again at OHSU for some physical therapy. On my way from the parking garage to the elevator I met this:
I don’t know how many times (countless it seems) I left a wheelchair and blanket in this exact spot. Family or nurses having pushed me to the car for a trip home. Huddled under a blanket to stay warm. Unable to walk.
Today I am thankful to be in remission. I am thankful I was able to walk to my appointment without a wheelchair, walker, or even a cane. I am so blessed.
