Yesterday was my first day of rehab here at RIO. It is a much different environment from the hospital. There are many people with spine injuries far worse than mine here.

I got a bunch of assessments done and have had a few different therapy sessions already. I have quickly tried to make progress so I can get out ASAP and return home.

I was able to graduate from wheelchair to walker yesterday (unheard of for someone’s first day here) and even took an unassisted walk around the floor.

I have another full day of 4 hours of various therapies today. They definitely keep you busy here. There is very little downtime to rest.

Visiting hours are 4:30-8:30 if you’re in the neighborhood.
